It is not too late to enter the Combat Hooligans March Madness pool. You have until the games start tomorrow to head over to Yahoo and fill out a bracket. We’ve got 9 players so far but round numbers are better.
The winner of the pool will have Ric Gillespie perminently erased from their memory. The loser will have to switch bodies with Ric Gillespie for a year. So the stakes are high!
The NCAA College Basketball tournament begins next week. As is our tradition going back to 2007, we’ve set up a March Madness tournament challenge group in which you can participate. You’ll all want to take part in this year’s event because you’ll need to see if our own Euan Taylor can redeem himself after last year’s embarrassment. Last year, Euan, the man who sets up all of these groups, forgot to make his own picks and thus earned an amazing 0 points. Can he repeat that feet this year? Of course he can but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and say that he won’t make that mistake again. He may just forget to pick a champion like he did the first time we did this. Yeah, Euan kinda sucks, lol.
Out of the top 50 teams, 30 belong to the national football league. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders failed to make the top 50 from the NFL. The Raiders were ranked in the top 50 in 2013 and were one of 3 franchises to fall off the list this year.
It was what had to be done. If you’re a player in the NBA and especially if you’re an African American player in the NBA, there is no way that you would want to play for Donald Sterling at this point. Doc Rivers doesn’t want to coach for the man and who can blame him? He could go to court to try and fight the ban but let us all hope that he does the smart thing and just sells the team and slinks off under the rock from under which he crawled out.
A $5 million fine is pretty hefty for sure but Sterling can afford it. Honestly, compiling a documentary of stupid draft picks made by the Clippers during his tenure as owner and tossing in idiotic trades as well should have also been included.
This new comes after several sponsors have ended their association with the team. Also, the NAACP decided against giving Sterling a second lifetime achievement award for some reason.
That’s not exactly news. Neither is the audio of him supposedly making racist statements to his girlfriend as posted by TMZ. You don’t need to dig far back in to his past to know what he really stands for.
The players on the Clippers staged a silent protest before their game 4 matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
I'm hearing Clipper players will be turning their team-issued gear inside out (except for uniforms) for all of Game 4. #DonaldSterling
I just finished filling out a survey sent to me because I am a current subscriber to NBA League Pass. The survey got me to thinking about my experience with League Pass this season. The fact is that my biggest NBA question right now is if I should even renew my subscription for next year.
Corey’s Champion Bracket seems to be anything but, since “Corey” or whomever did this bracket pictured above DIDN’T PICK A WINNER of the entire tournament! That’s too bad considering that this bracket not only predicted a Connecticut/Kentucky final match, but is also ranked tied at 4th in the Quicken Loans Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge. So Kansas freshman Basketball player Andrew Wiggins has declared himself for the 2014 NBA draft. That is hardly news as it has been expected all year. But Wiggins offered a tremendous quote about college which is expressed in this tweet from San Francisco Chronicle Sports Writer Vic Tafur.
Love this quote: Freshman Andrew Wiggins leaving Kansas for NBA — “wasn’t easy decision. Just wish I had more time. College goes by so fast”
